Where apprentices are members of work parties, their supervision is a fundamental day to day function of qualified tradespersons. Therefore the VESI has developed the Apprentice Supervision Guidelines to assist both parties (employers and apprentices) entering into a training contract, to understand each others obligations and expectations in regard to apprentice workplace supervision. These Guidelines apply to the supervision of all apprentices employed in the VESI who are undertaking a Distribution lineworker qualification, however they can be readily applied to other ESI apprentices.
