VESI MINIMUM RULES FOR CARRYING OUT HIGH VOLTAGE LIVE WORK IN VICTORIA

The VESI Minimum Rules For Carrying Out High Voltage Live Work In Victoria have been formulated by the HV Live Work Committee and have been circulated throughout the electricity supply industry in Victoria for the guidance of persons and organisation that conduct High Voltage Live Work.

The rules contained herein pertaining to High Voltage Live Work is the minimum standard to be applied when conducting HV live work throughout Victoria. Organisations may enhance or supplement rules provided this does not result in reduced safety standards. The underlying aim of this document is to provide a consistent set of rules and guidelines, agreeable to all stakeholders.

Important Note

Please note that some Minimum Approach Distances (Table 2) Issue 2 (February 2011) of the "VESI Minimum Rules For Carrying Out High Voltage Live Work In Victoria" vary from the Safe Approach Distances listed in "The Green Book (2006)". The Minimum Approach Distances in Issue 2 of the HV Live Work Rules align with the Australian Standards AS5804 High Voltage Live Working (AS5804.1, 5804.2 & 5804.3) and takes precedence where any variation occurs.
